Target Information
Members of the Dynamin family include GTPase, microtubule-associated proteins involved in cellular trafficking such as microtubule bundling and endocytosis.
Mx1 (MxA), an interferon-induced protein, confers resistance to influenza A and vesicular stomatitis virus (VSV), suggesting an antiviral role.
Mx1 shares 63% identity with Mx2 (MxB), which lacks antiviral activity and localizes to the cytoplasmic face of nuclear pores.
Mx2 expression is not interferon-dependent and may regulate nuclear import efficiency and kinetics.
