Leibovitz`s L-15 Medium supports the growth of HEP-2 monkey kidney cells and primary explants of embryonic and adult human tissue. L-15 is buffered by phosphates and free base amino acids instead of sodium bicarbonate. This medium is designed for supporting cell growth in environments without CO2 equilibration.

This L-15 is modified as follows:

Gibco™ L-15 is manufactured at a cGMP compliant facility, located in Grand Island, New York. The facility is registered with the FDA as a medical device manufacturer and is certified to ISO 13485 standards. For supply chain continuity, we offer an identical Gibco™ L-15 product made in our Scotland facility (11415-049). This facility is registered with the FDA as a medical device manufacturer and is certified to the ISO 13485 standard.

L-15 contains no proteins, lipids, or growth factors. Therefore, F-10 requires supplementation, commonly with 10% Fetal Bovine Serum (FBS).

This product is not used for in vitro diagnostic purpose in some countries.
