Target Information
Caspase 9 (ICE-like apoptotic protease 6, ICE LAP6, apoptotic protease Mch6, apoptotic protease activating factor 3, Apaf3)는 CARD 도메인을 포함하는 peptidase family C14에 속하는 효소입니다.
Caspases는 비활성 전구체 형태로 존재하는 cysteine protease로, 특정 기질의 절단을 통해 세포사멸(apoptosis)을 매개합니다.
Caspase 9는 세포질에서 활성화 후 미토콘드리아로 이동하며, Caspase 3 및 Caspase 6을 절단/활성화시켜 세포사멸 실행 단계에 관여합니다.
Apaf-1과 결합 시 Caspase 9가 활성화되어 Caspase 3을 절단하고, DNA 손상 유도 세포사멸을 촉진합니다. 또한 PARP를 절단하며, 다양한 인간 조직에서 발현됩니다.
Caspase 9의 발현 이상은 뇌 발달 이상, 암, 알츠하이머병 등 신경퇴행성 질환과 관련이 있습니다.
