RBM25는 RNA 결합 단백질로, 대체 pre-mRNA 스플라이싱 조절에 관여합니다.
이 단백질은 BCL2L1 아이소폼 발현을 조절하여 세포사멸(apoptosis)에 영향을 미칩니다.
과발현 시 proapoptotic BCL2L1 isoform S의 선택을 촉진하고, 결핍 시 antiapoptotic isoform L의 축적을 유도합니다.
또한 SCN5A 유전자의 비정상적 절단 스플라이스 형태 생성에도 관여합니다.
