CDCA8는 염색체 승객 복합체(Chromosomal Passenger Complex, CPC)의 구성 요소로, 양극성 방추사의 안정성에 필수적입니다. CPC는 Survivin, CDCA8, INCENP, Aurora-B로 구성되며, 세포 분열 과정에서 중요한 역할을 합니다.
CDCA8은 Aurora-B, INCENP, Survivin과 상호 작용하며 G2/M기 동안 발현이 증가하고 M기 이후 감소합니다. 또한 p53/Rb 신호에 의해 하향 조절되며, 여러 암 조직에서 상향 조절됩니다.
초파리 세포에서 CDCA8 비활성화는 다배수체 형성, 유사분열 지연 및 비정상적인 조직 발달을 초래하여 세포 증식에 중요한 역할을 함을 보여줍니다.
