Product Specific Information
Staining of formalin-fixed tissues is enhanced by boiling tissue sections in 10 mM sodium citrate buffer, pH 6.0 for 10–20 minutes, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.
Target Information
Neuropilin 1 is a 923 amino acid membrane-bound coreceptor belonging to the neuropilin family, containing two CUB domains, two F5/8 type C domains, and a MAM domain.
It forms a heterodimer with Neuropilin 2 (NRP2) and binds to plexin (PLXNB1) to form semaphorin receptors.
Expressed predominantly in the nervous system, Neuropilin 1 plays roles in cardiovascular development, angiogenesis, axon guidance, neuronal circuit formation, cell survival, neuronal migration, and organogenesis.
It functions as a receptor for semaphorins and VEGF, regulating VEGF-induced angiogenesis.
Neuropilin 1 may be involved in aggressive prostate carcinoma and breast cancer progression.
