• Store vial at 4°C prior to restoration.
• For extended storage, aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below.
• Avoid freeze/thaw cycles.
• Centrifuge if not clear after standing at room temperature.
• Stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid.
• Dilute only prior to immediate use.
• Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-sheep serum, purified and partially purified Alanine Transaminase (ALT) [Pig Heart].
• Cross-reactivity with ALT from other tissues and species may occur but has not been specifically determined.

Target Information

GPT (Glutamate-pyruvate transaminase), also known as alanine aminotransferase, catalyzes the reversible conversion of L-alanine and alpha-ketoglutarate to L-glutamate and pyruvate.
This protein has two distinct molecular and genetic forms: one cytoplasmic (soluble, GPT1) and one mitochondrial (GPT2).
