Target Information
ZNF238 is a sequence-specific DNA-binding protein with transcriptional repression activity. It binds the consensus DNA sequence 5′-[AC]ACATCTG[GT][AC]-3′, which includes the E-box core. ZNF238 may play a role in chromosomal organization within the nucleus.
C2H2-type zinc finger proteins, such as ZNF238, function as transcriptional activators or repressors and are involved in chromatin assembly.
