Target Information

DDR1 is a receptor tyrosine kinase activated by collagen and regulates adhesion, cell migration, and other cellular processes. Receptor tyrosine kinases (RTKs) are key mediators of cell communication with the microenvironment and regulate cell growth, differentiation, and metabolism.

DDR1 is widely expressed in epithelial cells and activated by multiple collagen types (I–VI). Expression is prominent in kidney, lung, gastrointestinal tract, and brain, and is overexpressed in several human tumors (breast, ovarian, esophageal, pediatric brain).
The DDR1 gene is located on chromosome 6p21.3 near HLA class I genes, with multiple transcript variants generated by alternative splicing.
