Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the CARD protein family, defined by the presence of a caspase-associated recruitment domain (CARD). CARD domains mediate protein interactions involved in activation or suppression of caspase family members, playing a regulatory role in apoptosis. CARD9 interacts with the CARD domain of BCL10, a positive regulator of apoptosis and NF-κB activation, functioning as a molecular scaffold for BCL10 signaling complex assembly. Several alternatively spliced transcript variants have been identified, though their full-length forms are not fully defined.
