Target Information
The TNFRSF11B gene encodes a member of the TNF-receptor superfamily. This osteoblast-secreted decoy receptor acts as a negative regulator of bone resorption by binding to its ligand, osteoprotegerin ligand, which are key regulators of osteoclast development.
Studies in mice suggest roles in lymph-node organogenesis and vascular calcification. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been reported, though their full-length nature remains undetermined.
