Target Information
Galactose-1-phosphate uridyl transferase (GALT)는 갈락토스 대사 경로(Leloir pathway)의 두 번째 단계를 촉매하여 UDP-glucose와 galactose-1-phosphate를 glucose-1-phosphate와 UDP-galactose로 전환시킵니다. 이 효소의 결핍은 인간에서 고전적 갈락토스혈증(classic galactosemia)을 유발하며, 신생아기 동안 식이에서 유당이 제거되지 않으면 치명적일 수 있습니다. 갈락토스혈증의 병태생리는 아직 명확히 규명되지 않았습니다.
