Target Information
PGP9.5 (Protein Gene Product 9.5, UCH-L1, PARK5)는 뉴런 특이적 단백질로, neuron specific enolase와는 구조적·면역학적으로 구별됩니다.
이 단백질은 약 27 kDa의 분자량을 가지며, ubiquitin carboxyl-terminal hydrolase family 1 (peptidase family C12)에 속합니다.
PGP9.5는 ubiquitin hydrolase 및 ligase 활성을 가지며, ubiquitin 단량체를 생성하기 위해 작은 C-말단 부착물을 절단합니다.
이 단백질은 중추 및 말초 신경계의 모든 수준에서 뉴런과 신경섬유에 존재하며, 신경내분비 세포, 신장 세뇨관 일부, 고환의 정세포 및 Leydig 세포, 난자, 황체 세포 등에서도 발현됩니다.
PGP9.5의 과발현은 비소세포 폐암과 관련이 있으며, 발현 감소는 헌팅턴병 및 알츠하이머병과 연관됩니다.
세포 내 포함체에 존재하기 때문에, PGP9.5는 신경세포 마커로서 및 파킨슨병과 같은 신경퇴행성 질환 연구에 유용합니다.
