Target Information
The ICA1 gene encodes a protein containing an arfaptin homology domain, found in both the cytosol and as a membrane-bound form on the Golgi complex and immature secretory granules. This protein is believed to be an autoantigen in insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus and primary Sjögren’s syndrome. Alternatively spliced variants encoding different isoforms have been described, though not all have been fully characterized.
