Target Information
Neurofilaments are intermediate filament proteins specifically found in neurons, composed mainly of NF-L, NF-M, and NF-H. These proteins maintain neuronal caliber and are expressed in a tissue-specific and developmentally regulated manner. NF-H plays a crucial role in mature axons and is implicated in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).
