Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the AAA family of adenosine triphosphatases (ATPases) and is related to the Clp protease/heat shock family. It is prominently expressed in the substantia nigra pars compacta. Mutations in this gene lead to the autosomal dominant disorder known as torsion dystonia 1.
