Target Information
C-Jun N-terminal Kinase (JNK), also known as Mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK8), is part of the MAPK superfamily of stress-activated protein kinases. These Serine-threonine kinases are activated in response to extracellular stimuli and mediate signal transduction from the cell surface to the nucleus.
JNK participates in cellular processes such as proliferation, differentiation, transcription regulation, and development. It is activated by stress and inflammatory signals and expressed as ten isoforms due to mRNA splicing, with JNK1 and JNK2 being predominant.
