Product Specific Information

  • Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): Incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
  • Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA (pH 9.0) for 45 minutes at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.

Target Information

The CDH17 gene belongs to the cadherin superfamily, encoding calcium-dependent, membrane-associated glycoproteins. The encoded protein is cadherin-like, containing seven cadherin domains and a transmembrane region but lacking the conserved cytoplasmic domain.
It is a component of the gastrointestinal tract and pancreatic ducts, acting as an intestinal proton-dependent peptide transporter involved in the absorption of peptide-based drugs.
The protein may also contribute to the morphological organization of the liver and intestine. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
