This product is preservative-free. It is recommended to add sodium azide to avoid contamination (final concentration 0.05%–0.1%).
Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. The expression systems are developed by cloning the specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits. Individual clones are screened to select the best candidates for production.

Target Information
Cystatin C is a member of the type 2 cystatin superfamily and a potent inhibitor of cysteine proteinases, including endogenous lysosomal cathepsins and pathogenic enzymes. It is a 13 kDa secreted protein found in high concentrations in biological fluids and expressed by all human nucleated cells.
Changes in Cystatin C levels have been documented in various cardiovascular diseases, such as atherosclerosis, amyloid angiopathy, and myocardial infarction. Due to its low molecular weight, Cystatin C is also used as a marker of renal failure.
