Target Information
TIS11D (ZFP36L2), also known as BRF2, ERF2, or RNF162C, is a 494 amino acid nuclear protein containing two C3H1-type zinc fingers. It belongs to the TIS11 family of early response proteins and functions as a nuclear transcription factor binding to RNA sequences (5'-UUAUUUAUUU-3'), regulating growth factor-induced responses. The gene encoding TIS11D maps to human chromosome 2, which contains over 1,400 genes and represents approximately 8% of the human genome. Mutations in related genes such as ABCA12, ABCG5, and ABCG8 are associated with disorders like Harlequin ichthyosis and sitosterolemia.
