Target Information
Steroid, thyroid hormones, and retinoic acid regulate complex gene expression via intracellular receptor transcription factors of the ligand-dependent nuclear receptor superfamily. Coactivators and corepressors modulate transcription activity of these receptors.
Silencing mediator of retinoic acid and thyroid hormone receptor (SMRT) and nuclear receptor corepressor (N-CoR) are related transcriptional corepressors containing two distinct domains that interact with unliganded nuclear receptors to repress basal transcriptional activity.
