Target Information
Under hypertonic conditions, the induction of SLC38A2/SNAT2 leads to stimulation of transport system A and an increase in cellular amino acid content. Its amino acid response element, together with a nearby conserved CAAT box, acts as an enhancer functioning in an orientation and position independent manner, conferring regulated transcription to a heterologous promoter.
