Target Information
Promotes phosphatidylserine exposure on the apoptotic cell surface, possibly by mediating phospholipid scrambling. Phosphatidylserine acts as a specific signal for engulfment of apoptotic cells. XKR8 has no effect on calcium-induced phosphatidylserine exposure and is activated upon caspase cleavage, suggesting it functions after the onset of apoptosis.
