Target Information
CDCA4 encodes a protein belonging to the E2F family of transcription factors. It regulates E2F-dependent transcriptional activation and cell proliferation through the E2F/retinoblastoma pathway and contributes to JUN oncogene expression regulation. The protein localizes to the nuclear-mitotic apparatus, participates in spindle organization during prometaphase, and may act as a midzone factor in chromosome segregation or cytokinesis. Two alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding the same protein have been identified, along with two pseudogenes located on chromosome 1.
