RNASET2는 Rh/T2/S-glycoprotein 계열의 세포외 리보뉴클레아제에 속하는 단백질로, 인간 염색체 6q27 영역에 위치한 단일 복제 유전자입니다. 이 영역은 종양 및 염색체 재배열과 관련이 있으며, RNASET2는 종양 억제 단백질로 기능할 가능성이 제시되었습니다. 또한 HTLV-1 Tax 단백질이 RNASET2 프로모터에 결합하면 발현이 억제되어, 성인 T세포 백혈병(ATL) 발병에 관여할 수 있습니다.
