Target Information
MET (c-MET) is a receptor-like tyrosine kinase whose dysregulation has been linked to many types of human malignancies. Upon ligand activation, MET interacts with PI3-kinase subunit PIK3R1, PLCG1, SRC, GRB2, and STAT3, leading to activation of signaling cascades such as RAS-ERK, PI3K-AKT, and PLCγ-PKC.
MET is involved in embryonic development processes including gastrulation, muscle and neuron formation, angiogenesis, and kidney development. In adults, it plays roles in wound healing, organ regeneration, and tissue remodeling.
Aberrant MET signaling has been associated with cancers such as gastric, renal, and breast cancer, making it a key target for cancer therapeutics and diagnostic research.
