Target Information
MYADM, part of the MAL family, is a 322-amino acid protein containing seven hydrophobic transmembrane domains and multiple phosphorylation consensus sites. It shows sequence homology with the T-cell differentiation protein MAL and plasmolipin, sharing 75.8% identity with the mouse in transmembrane regions. MYADM is associated with hematopoietic cell differentiation and acute promyelocytic leukemia. Its expression increases in NB4 cells treated with all-trans retinoic acid, while downregulation inhibits bone marrow colony formation. MYADM may serve as a marker for hematopoietic differentiation and as a target for diagnostic, prognostic, or therapeutic research. It is expressed in brain and pancreatic islet cells.
