Antibody detects endogenous levels of total GNPDA1.
Target Information
GNPDA1 is a 289 amino acid cytoplasmic protein belonging to the glucosamine/galactosamine-6-phosphate isomerase family. It is one of the two mammalian glucosamine-6-phosphate deaminase enzymes.
GNPDA1 catalyzes the reversible conversion of D-glucosamine-6-phosphate (GlcN6P) into D-fructose-6-phosphate (Fru6P) and ammonium through aldo/keto isomerization and amination/deamination.
It may trigger calcium oscillations in mammalian eggs during fertilization, contributing to egg and early embryo development.
GNPDA1 forms a homohexamer and is ubiquitously expressed in human tissues, with high expression in testis, ovary, placenta, and heart, as well as in various cell lines.
