Recombinant Human GM-CSF is a 14.6 kDa globular protein consisting of 128 amino acids with two intramolecular disulfide bonds and two potential N-linked glycosylation sites.

Target Information
The GM-CSF gene encodes a cytokine that regulates the production, differentiation, and function of macrophages and granulocytes. The active form exists as a homodimer in the extracellular space.
This gene is located in a cluster on chromosome region 5q31, associated with interstitial deletions in 5q- syndrome and acute myelogenous leukemia. Related genes include IL-4, IL-5, and IL-13.
It plays a role in promoting tissue inflammation, and elevated levels have been observed in SARS-CoV-2 infected patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome.
Mice lacking this gene or its receptor develop pulmonary alveolar proteinosis.
