Researchers performing RNA analysis often require the use of a pH meter to prepare their RNase-free solutions. The use of the same pH meter by several laboratory personnel, however, can often lead to problems with RNase contamination. This is especially a problem when preparing solutions that cannot be DEPC-treated or autoclaved. Special precautions must be taken when removing RNase contamination from a pH meter so that the accuracy will be unaffected and there is no residue left by the cleaning solution. Ambion™ Electro_Zap_™ is a non-corrosive, stable cleaning solution that has been specially formulated to clean electrode surfaces in a simple, quick, and efficient manner. It is effective even against high levels of RNase or DNase contamination. Electro_Zap__™_ is simply sprayed directly onto the electrode and then rinsed off with RNase-free water. It does not leave behind any residue that may interfere with subsequent enzymatic reactions.
