Target Information
This gene encodes a member of the F-box protein family, characterized by a ~40 amino acid F-box motif. F-box proteins form part of the ubiquitin ligase complex SCFs (SKP1–Cullin–F-box), which mediates phosphorylation-dependent ubiquitination.
F-box proteins are classified into three groups:
- Fbws – contain WD-40 domains
- Fbls – contain leucine-rich repeats
- Fbxs – contain other interaction modules or no recognizable motifs
The encoded FBXO7 protein belongs to the Fbxs class and may regulate hematopoiesis. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been identified, though not all full-length sequences are determined.
