Percent identity with other species by BLAST analysis:
Human, Gorilla, Orangutan, Gibbon (100%); Monkey, Marmoset (95%); Horse (89%); Rat, Dog, Hamster (84%).
For IHC(P), use heat-induced antigen retrieval in pH 6.0 citrate buffer. After incubation with the primary antibody, slides were incubated with biotinylated secondary antibody, followed by alkaline phosphatase-streptavidin and chromogen.
Target Information
SLC7A11 (XCT) is a member of a heteromeric, sodium-independent, anionic amino acid transport system. It is highly specific for cysteine and glutamate. SLC7A11 mediates Kaposi sarcoma-associated herpes virus fusion and entry into cells. Increased expression in primary gliomas is associated with neuronal cell death.
