TP53RK는 EKC/KEOPS 복합체의 구성 요소로, tRNA의 아데노신 37번 위치에 threonylcarbamoyl 그룹(t(6)A37)을 형성하는 데 필요합니다 (PubMed:22912744, PubMed:27903914).
이 복합체는 threonylcarbamoyl-AMP (TC-AMP)의 threonylcarbamoyl 부분을 A37의 N6 그룹으로 전달하는 데 관여합니다. TP53RK는 EKC/KEOPS 복합체 내에서 ATPase 활성을 가지며, 촉매 서브유닛 OSGEP을 보조하는 역할을 합니다.
또한 비정형 단백질 키나아제로서 p53/TP53의 Ser-15를 인산화하여 활성화에 기여할 수 있습니다 (PubMed:11546806).
