Target Information
Glucose is fundamental to mammalian cell metabolism. Several glucose transporter protein (Glut) isoforms have been identified and shown to function in response to insulin and IGF-1 signaling.
GLUT-3 is detectable in a few normal cell types such as spermatids in testis, placental trophoblast membranes, and neurons in the brain. GLUT-3 staining is also detectable in human cancers including ovary, lung, and testis.
