C2orf60은 wybutosine 생합성 경로의 구성 요소로 작용하는 tRNA hydroxylase입니다.
Wybutosine은 진핵생물의 phenylalanine tRNA의 anticodon 인접 3' 위치에 존재하는 삼환계 염기 구조의 과변형된 guanosine입니다.
이 단백질은 7-(α-amino-α-carboxypropyl)wyosine (yW-72)을 undermodified hydroxywybutosine (OHyW*)으로 수산화시키며, 이후 LCMT2/TYW4에 의해 hydroxywybutosine (OHyW)으로 전환됩니다.
OHyW는 고등 진핵생물에서 발견되는 wybutosine의 유도체입니다.
