The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is >95% (by SDS-PAGE).
Target Information
GFI1b (zinc finger protein GFI-1b) is an essential proto-oncogenic transcriptional regulator necessary for development and differentiation of erythroid and megakaryocytic lineages.
It is part of the RCOR-GFI-KDM1A-HDAC complex that suppresses genes involved in multilineage blood cell development via histone deacetylase (HDAC) recruitment and controls hematopoietic differentiation.
GFI1b acts as both transcriptional repressor and activator depending on promoter and cell type context. It represses SOCS1 and SOCS3 promoter activity, regulating cytokine signaling pathways.
Additionally, GFI1b cooperates with GATA1 to repress transcription of target genes such as BCL2L1, influencing apoptosis regulation.
Mutations in GFI1B are associated with Bleeding disorder, platelet-type 17 (BDPLT17).
