LRFN3는 신경 조직에서 높이 발현되는 5개의 막관통 당단백질 패밀리 중 하나입니다.
LRFN 단백질은 Slitrk 패밀리와 같은 LRR-Ig-Fn 단백질 초패밀리와 구조적 유사성을 가지며, leucine-rich repeat (LRR)-immunoglobulin-like (Ig)-fibronectin type III (Fn)-transmembrane 도메인 구조를 공유합니다.
LRFN1, -3, -4 mRNA는 배아 신경세포에서 발현되며, Lrfn2와 Lrfn5는 성숙한 세포에서 주로 발현됩니다.
LRFN1, -2, -4는 postsynaptic PSD95의 PDZ 도메인에 결합하여 PSD95를 세포 주변부로 재분포시키는 역할을 합니다.
이들 단백질은 척추동물의 발달 및 성숙 신경계에서 중요한 역할을 하는 것으로 제안됩니다.
