Anti-SIRT1 is directed against human SIRT1. BLAST analysis suggests reactivity with SIRT1 from human, mouse, and rat based on 100% homology for the immunizing sequence.
Target Information
NAD-dependent protein deacetylase sirtuin-1 (SIRT1) links transcriptional regulation directly to intracellular energetics and coordinates several cellular functions such as cell cycle, DNA damage response, metabolism, apoptosis, and autophagy.
SIRT1 modulates chromatin function through histone deacetylation and promotes alterations in histone and DNA methylation leading to transcriptional repression.
It plays an essential role in skeletal muscle differentiation and mediates the inhibitory effect on skeletal myoblast differentiation under low nutrient conditions involving AMPK and NAMPT.
