Zinc finger proteins contain DNA-binding domains and have diverse functions, primarily involving transcriptional activation or repression. Most zinc finger proteins possess a Kruppel-type DNA-binding domain and a KRAB domain, which interacts with KAP1 to recruit histone-modifying proteins.
ZNF329 (zinc finger protein 329) is a 541-amino-acid nuclear protein belonging to the Krueppel C2H2-type zinc finger family. It contains twelve C2H2-type zinc fingers and is implicated in DNA binding and transcriptional regulation.
