Target Information
DCAMKL1 (DCLK1) serine/threonine kinase, also known as doublecortin-like kinase 1, contains two N-terminal doublecortin domains that bind microtubules and regulate polymerization, a C-terminal serine/threonine kinase domain homologous to Ca²⁺/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase, and a serine/proline-rich domain mediating protein-protein interactions.
DCLK1 is a microtubule-associated kinase capable of autophosphorylation and exhibits microtubule-polymerizing activity independent of its kinase function. It plays roles in neuronal migration, retrograde transport, neuronal apoptosis, and neurogenesis.
