This antibody detects endogenous levels of GABRG1.
Target Information
Gabrg1 encodes a protein that belongs to the ligand-gated ionic channel family. It is an integral membrane protein that inhibits neurotransmission by binding to the benzodiazepine receptor and opening a chloride channel. The Gabrg1 gene is clustered with three other family members on chromosome 4.
GABAA receptors, members of the Cys-loop ligand-gated ion channel family, mediate the inhibitory effects of GABA along with GABAB receptors. Structurally, GABRG1 forms pentameric proteins consisting of five subunits from different families.
Diseases associated with GABRG1 include Alcohol Dependence.
