Background

Thrombospondin 2 (THBS2) is a disulfide-linked homotrimeric glycoprotein belonging to the thrombospondin family. It mediates cell-to-cell and cell-to-matrix interactions and acts as a potent inhibitor of tumor growth and angiogenesis. Mouse studies indicate that THBS2 may modulate mesenchymal cell surface properties and be involved in cell adhesion and migration.
