STMN2 (Stathmin-2, also known as SCG-10)
STMN2 is a neuronal growth-associated protein sharing significant amino acid sequence similarity with the phosphoprotein stathmin. It may play a role in neuronal differentiation and in modulating membrane interaction with the cytoskeleton during neurite outgrowth. Reduced expression of this gene has been associated with Down’s syndrome and Alzheimer’s disease.
