Target Information

Ribosomes는 단백질 합성을 촉매하는 세포 소기관으로, 작은 40S 소단위와 큰 60S 소단위로 구성됩니다. 이 유전자는 60S 소단위의 구성 요소인 L18AE 계열 리보솜 단백질을 암호화합니다. 해당 단백질은 hepatitis C virus의 internal ribosome entry site (IRES)와 상호작용하여 바이러스 복제에 관여할 수 있습니다. 또한 이 유전자는 세 번째 인트론 내에 위치한 U68 snoRNA와 함께 공동 전사되며, 여러 가공된 pseudogene이 게놈 전반에 분포되어 있습니다.
