Product Specific Information
This product is preservative-free. It is recommended to add sodium azide to avoid contamination (final concentration 0.05%–0.1%).
Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. The expression systems are developed by cloning specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits. Individual clones are screened to select the best candidates for production.
Advantages of recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies:
- Better specificity and sensitivity
- Lot-to-lot consistency
- Animal origin–free formulations
- Broader immunoreactivity due to larger rabbit immune repertoire
This antibody has specificity for Mouse Neuroserpin/SerpinI1.
Target Information
This gene encodes a member of the serpin superfamily of serine proteinase inhibitors. The protein is primarily secreted by axons in the brain and preferentially reacts with and inhibits tissue-type plasminogen activator. It is thought to play a role in regulating axonal growth and the development of synaptic plasticity.
Mutations in this gene result in familial encephalopathy with neuroserpin inclusion bodies (FENIB), a dominantly inherited form of familial encephalopathy and epilepsy characterized by the accumulation of mutant neuroserpin polymers. Multiple alternatively spliced variants, encoding the same protein, have been identified.
