HAPLN3는 360 아미노산으로 구성된 세포외 단백질로, HAPLN 패밀리에 속하며 하나의 Ig-like V-type 도메인과 두 개의 Link 도메인을 포함합니다. 이 단백질은 히알루론산 결합 및 세포 접착에 관여하며, 연골 세포외 기질에서 프로테오글리칸 단량체와 히알루론산의 복합체를 안정화시키는 역할을 합니다. HAPLN3는 대부분의 조직에서 발현되며, 비장과 태반에서 가장 높은 수준을 보입니다.
