WDFY4 (also known as C10orf64, KIAA1607) is a large protein with unknown functions. It is predominantly expressed in immune tissues such as lymph nodes, spleen, thymus, and tonsils.
Genome-wide association studies (GWAS) have identified WDFY4 as a novel predisposing gene for systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), a heterogeneous, complex, relapsing-remitting autoimmune disease.
