This antibody detects endogenous levels of total GMFB protein.
Target Information
GMFB (Glia Maturation Factor Beta) is a protein phosphorylated following phorbol ester stimulation and plays a key role in the nervous system. It promotes brain cell differentiation, stimulates neural regeneration, and inhibits tumor cell proliferation. Overexpression of GMF in astrocytes enhances brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) production. GMF expression increases with exercise and is essential for exercise-induced BDNF production, contributing to neuroprotection. In thymoma, GMF produced by tumor cells helps maintain T-cell development.
