Target Information
PTK2B (FAK2) is a cytoplasmic tyrosine kinase involved in calcium-induced regulation of ion channels and activation of the MAP kinase signaling pathway.
It regulates actin cytoskeleton reorganization, cell polarization, migration, adhesion, spreading, and bone remodeling.
FAK2 plays roles in humoral immune response regulation, B-cell migration, and signaling downstream of integrin, collagen, immune, G-protein coupled, cytokine, chemokine, and growth factor receptors.
Aberrant FAK2 expression may contribute to cancer cell proliferation, migration, and invasion. Elevated expression has been observed in gliomas, hepatocellular carcinoma, lung cancer, and breast cancer.
