Target Information
The hnRNP K gene belongs to the subfamily of ubiquitously expressed heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoproteins (hnRNPs). These RNA-binding proteins complex with heterogeneous nuclear RNA (hnRNA) and are involved in pre-mRNA processing, mRNA metabolism, and transport.
hnRNP K is localized in the nucleoplasm and contains three KH domains that bind RNA, showing a strong preference for poly(C). It may play a role in cell cycle progression. Several alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described, though not all are fully characterized.
